广东省普通高考“英语听说”考试试题01

Part A Reading Aloud

视频原文字幕:

Europa orbits Jupiter once every 3.6 days in an egg-shape path. The gravitational pull from Jupiter changes constantly, stretching, then compressing Europa. This process is like needing a piece of clay to make it warm and soft. And the heat produced maybe enough to melt the underside of the ice shield, creating a hidden ocean of liquid water, protective from the vacuum space by the solid ice above. If so, there could be aliens living here. I think it’s even reasonable to guess that some of them are physical features.

S: Don, We’re always hearing that the ozone layer is being depleted, and people all over the world are worried about it. Why? Is it that important?

D: Yes, we need it to protect us.

S: But I’ve been thinking there has to be a more effective way to protect the ozone layer than just by sitting around, not releasing any more harmful chemicals into the air so the ozone has a chance to repair itself.

D: Ok, like what?

S: Well, like making more ozone. What do you think of it? We must have plenty of raw materials.

现在请准备提出3个提问:

Q1.人类能自己制造臭氧吗?

Computerized Answer: No, we can't produce our ozone to replace the ozone layer. Ozone in large quantities is harmful, which makes it hard to work with.

Q2.还有其他的原因吗?

Computerized Answer: Yes, the ozone layer requires a huge amount of energy to maintain itself, which right now it gets from the sun. Taking over natural ozone production would require more than double the energy the United States produces per year. That would cause a great amount of blackouts.

Q3. 那我们应如何保护臭氧层?

Computerized Answer:Maybe we can use air-conditioner less often.

现在请准备回答5个问题:

Q1.Why is the ozone layer important?

Q2.What does Sarah think is the more effective way to restore the ozone layer?

Q3.Why is ozone hard to work with? Q4.Where does the ozone layer get energy to maintain itself? Q5.Why will ozone production cause blackouts?

Part C Retelling

In 1896, 17-year-old Einstein met Marits. They studied in the same class and the common interest in physics brought the two together and they became good friends. Over the next few years, their friendship developed into romance. In January 1903, when Einstein was 24, he married Marits, who was 4 years older than he.

After their marriage, Einstein devoted himself to the research of the great theory of relativity. To give her husband more help, Marits gave up her own work, and became a good wife and assistant. She tried her best to encourage him whenever possible. She was sure that her husband would succeed.

In 1914, the Einsteins moved to Berlin and settled down there. At that time, Einstein’s theory proved to be correct and he became famous all over the world. Marits was very proud of her husband with his success. But then the First World War broke out, Marits and her two sons, who were traveling in Switzerland, couldn’t come back to Berlin any longer. The war not only stopped Einstein’s work but also broke up the warm, happy family. In 1919, Einstein and Marits had to get divorced, having lived apart for five years.

视频原文字幕:

They were pictures that revealed their greatest dreams and their worst nightmares. One dream in particular fuelled the Victorian imagination, a dream of escape. Escape to a haven that offered refuge from all that. The family home. A respectable household showed you worked hard and provided for your family. Their paintings showed life in the Victorian home as it should be. Father pays for it. Children play in it. But the one who holds it all together is the wife and mother. She became known as “The Angel in the House”.

视频原文(Introduction)

W: Hello, Jack. I heard that you are crazy about art, are you?

M: Hey, Kate. I do like art very much, especially painting.

W: So who's your favourite artist?

M: I like many artists, such as Da Vinci, Picasso and Monet. Among them, my favourite one is Van Gogh. W: I'm interested in Van Gogh's story, too. Can you tell me something about him please?

M: Sure. Van Gogh was born in a small Dutch village on March 30, 1853. He was largely self-taught as an artist. W: I know one of his work, Potato-Eaters. It's wonderful.

M: Yes, it's one of his first works. Most of them were heavily painted and attempted to represent the life of the poor. W: It's a pity that he died so early. Mary told me that he shot himself when he was 37 years old.

M: Yes, his life is a tragic, but his contribution to the world is of great value.

Q2:How old was Van Gogh when he shot himself?

Q3:Where is Sunflowers stored now?

Q4:When will Jack bring the book about Van Gogh to Kate? Q5:How many works did Van Gogh sell before he died?

Part C Retelling

梗概:小时候,老师要求达·芬奇画鸡蛋。看似简单的鸡蛋画,他经过不断练习后才终于达到老师的标准。从此他明白,所有事物都不是想象中那么简单的。

关键词:Da Vinci (达·芬奇); oval (椭圆形); thousandth (第一千的);

complicated (复杂的); religious (宗教的)

Da Vinci was one of the greatest painters of all time, and he has probably had more influence on people than any other artist.

When Da Vinci was still a little boy, he asked his father to send him to an art class. His father agreed. On the first day, the teacher in the art class asked him to draw an egg. Da Vinci thought, “That’s the simplest thing on earth! Even a baby can draw it!”, but he did not say so. Instead he drew an oval. He showed his egg to the teacher, the teacher looked at it and said, “This is not an egg. It’s just an oval. Come back when you can draw one.” Da Vinci was very unhappy, but then he understood that the teacher was right. So he drew ten thousand eggs, and finally, on the ten thousandth time, he got it right. After that he realized that things were more complicated than people thought. He went on practicing drawing, and then became one of the greatest artists of all time.

Among his works, the Mona Lisa is the most famous, and The Last Supper is the most reproduced religious painting of all time.

What if we could wear bodysuits to give us super strength? Own an identical robot twin to work for us? What if we could travel through time? Technology is pushing from every direction, getting faster with each passing second. Prepare yourself! The future is closer than you think.

A robot conducting a symphony orchestra! Amazing as that is, it’s just one way reality is outpacing science fiction. Everyday robots become even more sophisticated, taking on additional human traits. Until now, robots have mostly gotten the toughest jobs. They work the assembly line and defuse or even detonate explosive devices.

视频原文(Introduction) M:Daisy, would you like to go to the movies with me this Saturday night? I’ve got two tickets.

W: I’d love to. What’ the movie about?

M: It’s about robots.

W: Robots? That’s interesting.

M: Many researchers are working towards developing more intelligent robots, so in the future our homes and offices will be occupied by robots. They will improve our lives in the 21st century.

W: I doubt that.

M: Why?

W: Aren’t you worried that they will replace us and become the masters of this planet?

M: First of all, we are not the MASTERS of this planet, and no, I don’t think robots can do better than us. 现在请准备提出3个提问:

Q1.机器人通常被用来做哪些工作?

Computerized Answer: The traditional tasks for a robot have always been 3-Ds: dull, dirty, dangerous. For example, the military and science have used robots for deadly situations.

Q3.Asimo有什么特别的地方?

Q3.

Computerized Answer: Asimo can walk gracefully. His creators study motion capture video of both humans and animals. Designed to detect the ground beneath him, his body responds appropriately, so Asimo keeps balance. 现在请准备回答5个问题:

W:You have a twin birth named James, don’t you?

M: Yes, I do. He is at Harvard University and studies chemistry. He is very interested in it. W: But I thought twins would have the same interests and abilities.

M: Not always. Genes give twins the potential for developing the same interests and abilities, but Dad and Mum encouraged us to develop our own interests and we did.

W: Did you and James dress alike and have the same teachers in elementary school?

M: No, my parents encouraged us to dress differently and we’re in different classes at school. W: Didn’t you have many same ideas?

Uncle John Was Saved

When Uncle John was 85 years old, most of his families and relatives were already dead. He lived by himself in a big house. The only person who often talked to him was his nephew Tom. Tom called several times a week just for few minutes to say hello and see if everything was OK. One morning Tom phoned Uncle John again. Again no answer. Two hours later he called the 3rd time. Still no answer, he got very anxious. So he called Uncle John’s next door neighbor. Tom told her that he was worried about Uncle John and asked her to see what was wrong. A while later, the neighbor phoned Tom. She said nervously, ―Tom, I’m sorry it took so long. Uncle John didn’t answer the door, so I used his spare key. I found him lying on the bathroom floor. I could not wake him up.‖ Tom called the doctor immediately, and then rushed to Uncle John’s house. When he got there, the doctor had already been there. The doctor said that he was just in time to save him.

W: Dr. Brown, welcome to today’s program.

M: Thank you. It’s a pleasure being here.

W: We know that you are a language specialist, and you just published a book on how to learn a foreign language. And it’s selling well, so tell us the title of your book?

M: It’s called ―Learning a language over Ex and Tost‖ (音)

W: That sounds very interesting, tell us what you discuss in your book.

M: It is very important to set up a regular program like planning a few minutes every morning around the breakfast time.

W: But I have been learning Spanish for four years, and I haven’t become a good speaker of it. M: We can’t become fluent speakers in the matter of a few minute hearing that. We should follow a regular course of study.

三问

1. 学生问:Could you please speak a little more?

电脑答:My basic suggestion is to learn a foreign language by talking small steps. Some people think they can learn a foreign language in thirty days, and they become very discouraged when they can’t. Learning 5 words a day and learning to use them actively is far better than Learning 30 and forgetting them the next day. But people many have different learning styles.

2. 学生问:What do you mean by ―learning styles?‖

电脑答:I mean different ways of learning. Some prefer to see models of the patterns they are expected to learn; others see the hearing instructions over reading them. All preferences are determined by factors so just character, culture and past experiences.

3. 学生问:How did you learn a foreign language?

电脑答:I learned while doing things. Moving around as well as trying to learn helps me. I often recite aloud the words when I cook potatoes and onions for breakfast in the morning.

五答

1. 录音问:What is Dr. Brown’s book about?

学生答:It’s about how to learn a foreign language.

2. 录音问:How long has the woman been learning Spanish?

4. 录音问:What factors determine one’s learning styles?

学生答:Factors like character, culture and past experiences.

5. 录音问:What does Dr. Brown often do when he prepares his breakfast?

学生答:He often recites aloud the words.

Locked In

Last summer vacation, Tom took a part-time job in a company. His office was very small at the end of the second floor. One Friday evening, he finished his work and went out of his office. It’s already six o’clock. He looked around and found everybody had gone home. The building was very quiet, and the main lights were all out. He ran down to see whether he could find somebody, but it was too late. The doors all locked, and he was locked in the building. Tom went back to his office to phone the doorkeeper, but the phone did not work. He tried another one, and that phone did not work, either. Tom realized the phones in the office had been locked for the weekend. He thought, ―I had to be here for the weekend‖. Suddenly he remembered that in the reception room there was a phone that was always on. So he rushed to the reception room. The door was locked, too. So he went into the room through the window, and phoned the doorkeeper. Half an hour later, the doorkeeper came, and Tome went home.

M: Well, it is about seven years now.

2. 学生问:Can you talk about English people?

电脑答:Well, they are very polite, you know, saying ―please‖ and ―thank you‖ all the time. I found it strange at first, all the time. Before I live here, I used to think English people were very formal.

3. 学生问:Do you have any other problems?
